Pharmacokinetics
decreased acidity in stomach, slower emptying times, and decreased motility can alter absorption of drugs
- can also predispose stomach to developing ulceration from maintaining prolonged contact with medication
lower serum albumin levels which can cause certain drugs to be more concentrated in the bloodstream
- intensified drug effects
more predisposed to side effects because of extended half life time (slower metabolism
