A

Spacing of contour lines:
Wide apart = Gentle slope
Close tgt = Steep slope

Slope Gradient?

A

Slope Gradient= Vert. distance/Horizontal distance
Larger ratio=steeper slope

Describe the relief of Hong Kong.

A

There are few natural lowlands. ( Yuen Long Plain is the largest )
Hilly relief with much of the land>200m. ( Tai Mo Shan is the highest peak )
Long and irregular coastlines results in many bays.
Plenty of offshore islands.
Some lowland areas are created by reclammation. Formed on the 2 sides of Victoria Harbour and in some new towns ( Sha Tin and Tseung Kwan O)
