Q

How do we determine the length of DNA?

A
  1. Run a gel with unknown DNA in one lane and molecular weight markers in the second lane
  2. Take a photograph
  3. Measure distances each band travelled from well
  4. Print a sheet of semi-log paper
  5. Plot the distance of the molecular weight marker bands
  6. Estimate the size of the unknown band
