First-line for neuropathic pain- including painful diabetic neuropathy
Prevention of focal seizures in epilepsy
Pregabalin is an option for generalised anxiety disorder

A
Not fully understood but they inhibit pre-synaptic volgate-gated calcium channels- causing reduction of neuronal excitability

Drowsiness
Impaired concentration
Dizziness
Ataxia
Weight gain
Drugs of misuse and dependency
Risk of suicidal thoughts

A
Reduce dose in renal impairment
