    - Shallow and friendships ends quickly

    - Psychologically driven
    - More complex
    - Like each others personalities and respond to needs and desire of friends
    - Trust and support is important, apologies and explanataions are needed to solve conflicts
  3. Intimacy, Shared understanding and loyalty 11 years +
    - Values, beliefs and feelings
    - Lead to close friendships
    - Loyal friends that stand up for you is more important
    - Important for coping psychological distress, lonliness, sadness and fear
  • Friendships gets more selective over time, smaller friendgroups compared to younger kids
