Lotting and batching post 1969
Define
Define a Lot
A lot is a discrete quantity of EO or components that are as homogeneous as possible and under similar conditions of use may be expected to give uniform performance.
Lotting and batching post 1969
List
List the 5 aims of lottin/batching
ID a QTY of EO which should give uniform performance.
Reduce Manufacturer’s risk of large scale rejection or warranty claims.
Facilitate the tracing, ID and withdrawal of EO that is life expired or has given unsatisfactory performance.
ID a definite QTY for results of surveillance can be representative.
Facilitate establishment of records.

What is done when the lot number is unknown
- what is ensured when doing this? 4 points
It is formed in to local lots
The ammo is serviceable
each local lot is confined to a nature, tpye and mark or model
it is certain that no existing restriction apples
Quantity is no to exceed normal production lot QTY

- 1969 batching system
Lotting and batching post 1969
Define
Why do we use a batching system
Modern artillery and tank guns require greater importance to be applied to certain components of ammunition than was previously necessary.
Lotting and batching post 1969
Define
Define how arty and tank ammo is batched?
Artillery and tank ammunition is Batched on the following two major components:
Propellant (the Batching component).
Primer (the Sub Batching component).
Lotting and batching post 1969
List
List the type of ammunition that will be sub batched

Lotting and batching post 1969
Define
Define sub batch
A Sub Batch is a division of a Batch.
It incorporates the same Lot of the second most critical component.
It limits the size of the sub batch.
