What are 3 rules of football?

A

1) No hand contact by an outfielder (handball)
2) Offside rule
3) No foul play - tripping someone over, violent conduct, simulation.
4) The goalkeeper is the only player allowed to handle the ball within the 18 yard box
5) A minimum of 7 players are needed to constitute a match.
6) Throw-ins have to be with 2 hands, behind the line where the ball was thrown out.
7) In a penalty no other players are aloud in box.

What do the defenders do?

A

An outfield player whose primary roles are to stop attacks during the game and prevent the opposing team from scoring goals.

A

Midfielders are positioned on the field between their team’s defenders and forwards. Some midfielders play a strictly-defined defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are otherwise known as defensive midfielders.

A

What is an example of foul play?

A

Hitting another player purposely, tripping another player, entering, re-entering or deliberately leaving the field of play without the referee’s permission and failing to respect the required distance when play is restarted with a dropped ball, corner kick, free kick or throw-in.

What happens when a player gets a red card?

A

A player who is given a red card is instantly sent off of the field and is forbidden to play for the remainder of the match. They are also handed a suspension starting from the next game.

A

A yellow card is issued as a caution, giving a player a second chance to remain on the pitch for the rest of the game. If a player is cautioned twice in a game with two yellow cards they are then shown an automatic red card.
