Fluid Mechanics - Buoyant Force Flashcards
1
Q
archimede’s principle
A
- When an object is in a fluid, it experiences an upward buoyant force, Fb, that equals the weight of the fluid displaced by the object.
2
Q
buoyant force
A
- an upward force exerted by a fluid that opposes the weight of an immersed object. In a column of fluid, pressure increases with depth as a result of the weight of the overlying fluid.
