Q
Power off stall
A
- Clearing turns @ 1,500 AGL/ 3,000 MSL
- Reduce power 1,800 rpm, fuel fullest, pump on, carb heat on
- Extend full flaps below (below 110 kts for 10 flaps, below 85 kts for 20 of & 40 degrees of flaps)
- Establish 1,500rpm/70 kts descent
- Power to idle
- Back pressure to maintain altitude
- Announce imminent stall @ stall warning
- Announce stall when the stall occurs
3
Q
Power on stall
A
- Clearing turns @ 1,500/3,000
- Slow to 70-75 kts level flight
- Add power to 2,300 rpm
- Smoothly increase pitch to induce stall
- Call out imminent stall @ stall warning
- Call out stall when stall occurs
4
Q
Power on stall recovery
A
- Full power, reduce pitch, then establish Vy pitch
- Accelerate and maintain Vy 76 kts
- Level off as briefed
5
Q
Steep Turns
A
- Note heading, outside reference point, and altitude
- Airspeed @ 95 kts
- Roll into a 45 degree bank turn
- Back pressure & power to maintain altitude and airspeed
- Sacn outside, VASI, Altimeter, and Airspeed
- Lead rollout heading by 20 degrees
- Reduce pitch and power to maintain altitude
6
Q
S-Turns
A
- Clearing turns, ER landing spot 600-1,000/1,500
- Enter downwind stabilizing @ 90 kts
- When under wing roll into left turn (steepest)
- Past 90 degrees reduce bank to track a synm
- Close to 180 degree point level and parallel
- Repeat 1-4 in a right turn
Alt +/- 100 A/S +/- 10
7
Q
Short Field Takeoff
A
Flaps 25
- Taxi onto runway centerline using all available runway
- Hold breaks
- Apply full power
- Release breaks
- Call out Engine instruments cleared (rpm & oil pressure)
- Call out airspeed alive
- Accelerate to Vr 48 kts & pitch airborne @51
- Climb at Vx 56 kts until obstacle is cleared
- Call obstacle cleared pitch Vy & retract flaps above 62 kts
- Keep climb @ Vy 74 kts
8
Q
Short Field Landing
A
- Select a touchdown point
- Abeam TDZ power 1,600 rpm flaps 10 below 110 kts
- Pitch for 80 kts
- TDZ @ 45 degrees off shoulder turn base
- Flaps 20 degrees pitch 70 kts
- Turn Final flaps 30 degrees pitch 61 kts
- Smoothly reduce power to land at or beyond selected point within 200 feet of selected point
- Flaps 0, max breaking, full back pressure
9
Q
Soft Field Takeoff
A
Flaps 25
- Taxi onto runway with yolk in full aft position
- No breaks, keep rolling & smoothly apply full power
- Call out Engine Checked
- Reduce back pressure to allow nose wheel 2 inches off the ground
- Call out airspeed alive
- When airborne lower nose to stay in ground effect
- No obstacle accelerate 56 kts pitch for Vy, retract flaps above 62 kts climb Vy 74 kts
- Obstacle accelerate and climb Vx 56 till cleared than Vy
- Call out obstacle cleared pitch for Vy, retract flaps above 62 kts, continue climb at Vy 74 kts
10
Q
Soft Field Landing
A
- Abeam TDZ power 1,600 Flaps 10 under 100 kts
- Pitch for 80 kts
- TDZ 45 degrees off shoulder turn base
- Flaps 20 pitch 70 kts
- Turn Final flaps 30 pitch 65 kts
- Approach TDZ being flare, user power to reduce sink to touchdown smoothly
- Back pressure on yolk to keep nose up
- Flaps down aerodynamic braking only
11
Q
Crosswind Taxi
A
Climb into a headwind
Dive away from tailwind
12
Q
Climb & Level Off
A
75-80 kts climb speed
25’ above assigned altitude lower nose below level till @ alt
@ 110 kts trim one big turn fwd
power 2,300 - 2,400
Trim and lean
Fuel pump off
13
Q
Turns around a point
A
- Clearing turns, ER landing spot, 600-1,000/1,500 MSL
- Enter downwind @ 90 kts
- Point under wing start left turn ~30 degree steepest bank
- @ x/w reduce bank
- up wind bank will be the shallowest
- @ x/w increase bank
- Complete 2 circuits alt. +/- 100 A/S +/- 10 heading +/0- 10 degrees
