  • autoimmune response to acetylcholine receptors
  • weakens voluntary muscles w/ use, improves w/ rest or Tensilon
  • reduced tongue endurance, inspiratory stridor, worsening of dysarthria during stress testing

  • damage to one+ cranial or spinal nerves
  • lesion btwn brainstem and spinal cord
  • Chiari malformations, Guillain-Barré syndrome, ALS, Myasthenia Gravis
