Cerebellar Cognitive Affective Syndrome
A
- pure cerebellar lesions
- motor impairments
- non-motor symptoms (anxiety, anhedonia, aggression, emotional lability)
- cognitive impairments

Patient perceptions
A
- slurred & drunken sounded
- worse w/ fatigue

Characteristics of Ataxia
A
- difficulties standing/walking
- broad-based stance & gait
- truncal instability
- titubation - tremor of body and head
- nystagmus - jerky eye movements
- hypotonia - excessively relaxed muscle tone
- impaired check and excessive rebound
- dysmetria - inability to control ROM
- dysdiadochokinesis - errors in timing/speed -> poor coordination

Q
OME observations
A
- normal size, strength, symmetry of jaw, face, tongue, palate
- Nonspeech AMRs irregular (lat wiggling of tongue, retraction + pursing of lips)
- normal gag
- no pathological oral reflexes

A
- imprecise consonants
- excess and equal stress **
- irregular articulatory breakdowns **
- distorted vowels
- Harsh VQ
- prolonged phonemes + intervals
- monopitch/loudness
- slow rate
- loudness variations
- irregular speech AMRs (won’t get better, AOS will get better)
