If you have a shaft fire or a dumbwaiter fire where do you stretch the line to?
Line is stretched to the nearest point from which water can be directed onto fire. Bring enough hose to reach upper floors.
At a OLT cellar fire where does the first line go?
To the interior cellar entrance door remains there to protect the stairs.
Does not advance down stairs if there is an outside entrance. Unless the fire is minor
Where does the first line go at an OLT store fire?
Into the store
Where does the second line go at OLT store fires?
To the entrance hallway to protect the stairs
The second line does not go above until assured it is not needed on the first floor
Where does the first line go at NLT cellar fires?
To the cellar by way of exterior entrance
Where does the first line go to at a NLT store fire?
Into the store
Where does the second line go at a NLT store fire?
To back up the first line in the store
The second line can go to the floor above when it’s obvious first line can control the store fire

All available engines used
At an H type bldg at what floor would you use a utility rope stretch
3rd floor or above
When smoke is issuing from the cornice does this mean you have fire in the cockloft?
No under no circumstances should the cornice be opened for smoke
How do you check to see you have fire in the cockloft or cornice?
By opening the ceiling below or opening returns if present
