Where are the three fire detection zones in each nacelle
PEZ - Primary Engine Zone
LEZ - Leading Edge Zone
MWW - Main Wheel Well
What happens if a fire detection loop is punctured or loses electrical power?
The signal will be relayed to the Fire Protection panel as a FAULT A or FAULT B indication. The MASTER WARNING and CHECK FIRE DET will also illuminate
What will result in the detection of a FAULT A light?
Either the PEZ loop or the LEZ loop fails.
When will the FIRE light not come on with the FAULT A light?
(The Lez always knows when its hot) If the LEZ loop fails with fault and the PEZ loop detects a fire, NO FIRE INDICATION WILL RESULT.
When will the B FAULT light come on?
Malfunction of the MWW zone loop.
Which lights comes on for an engine fire?
2 Engine Fire
Check Fire Detect
Master Warning
Pull Fuel/Hyd Off Handle
What comes on when either fire bottle is depleted or pressure low?
Master Warning, Check Fire Detect, BTL LOW
What happens when you pull the T handle?
closes fuel and hydraulic lines and arms the bottles
How many smoke detectors and where?
one above door in fwd bag comp
two in ceiling of aft bag comp
one in the lav (no cockpit indication)
How many fire bottles for fwd and aft bag compartments?
Three fire bottles
Two (fwd/aft) high rate
One shared low rate
If smoke is detected in fwd baggage what lights?
smoke warning, master warning, smoke extg, fwd bottle arm
If smoke is detected in aft cargo what lights?
smoke, master warning, aft smoke extg, vent inlt vent outlet closed lights, aft btl arm
How long delay until low rate bottle is discharged into aft?
