Females are denied ‘temporary flight’ away from responsibilities. The bedroom culture is regarded as safe and appropriate for female.

As earlier studies have been focused on white working class males, females have long been ignored
Why are feminists critical of functionalists?
They argue there is essentially only one youth culture and variation is of little importance , were as feminists see subcultures differently based on gender important for understanding modern youth.

Tighter social control by parents (less freedom)

Research has suggested there is still evidence of the bedroom culture, but has changed due to the internet and TV and boyfriends aloud into bedrooms allowing external influences beyond the immediate friendship

Not all girls have their own bedroom if one at all

What are new wave girls?
they not only gained fans through their music, but also their distinctive fashion sense, and redefined the music industry. And decided that they will make their own future .
