What does Oestrogen do?
A
Responsible for development of secondary sexual characteristics
Peaks just after LH and causes ovulation.

What does progesterone do?
A
Causes thickening of endometrium and growth of new blood vessels in to the endometrium. This occurs during the lueteal/ secretory phase.
when progesterone drops at around day 28 the endometrium starts to slough off and mestration occurs.
