What is a fibroadenoma?

A

Most common breast tumour in adolescent and young adult women (peak age= third decade)

May regress without treatment

What does an in situ carcinoma mean?

A

It is preinvasive and does not form a palpable tumour.

Can only be detected with imaging.

No metastaic spread and risk of invasion depends on grading.

A

Surgery: mastectomy or breast conserving surgery

Antihormonal thearpy- e.g. Tamoxifen
