A
  • Need maternal and paternal family history
  • More prevalent in Ashkenazi Jews
  • Risk of BC still increases with age

A

WOMEN
50-80% risk of BC/ ovarian cancer

MEN
10-20% risk of BC

What management is done when suspected BRCA +ve?

A

Screening

  • Family members may be screened IF disease-mutation has been identified in an affected family member
  • Mammogram then alternating with MRI (reduce radiaiton exposure)

Prophylatic Oophrectomy
