What is the management of mandibular fracture?
Surgery
What is the classification of mid face fractures?
Le Fort
1= upper jaw
2= above nose, down cheeks
3= behind eyes
What are the more common types of Le Fort fractures?
II and III
What is the presentation of mid face fractures?
Panda eyes
Gross oedema
Epistaxis, CSF rhinorrhoea
Open bite
What investigation is done for suspected mid face fracture?
CT
What is the management of mid face fracture?
Surgical
What is the big complication of mid face fracture?
Massive haemorrhage- due to disruption f maxillary artery
What is the presentation of orbital fracture?
Diplppia on upwards gaze
Visual disturbance
Bruising and oedema
Subconjunctival haemorrhage
What investigation is dome for orbital fracture?
CT
What is the management of orbital fracture?
Extensive soft tissue injury= urgent surgery
Conservative management with review at 1 week with view to delayed surgery
