Repetitive stress
Autoimmune
Trauma
Infection= septic bursitis

A
Localised pain and tenderness Decreased active ROM Superficial= swelling, erythema Septic= low grade pyrexia, erythema, warmth Subacromial= painful arc

A
Clinically

A
Gram stain and culture of aspirate

What is the management of bursitis?
A
- Rest, ice, analgesia
- Corticosteroid injections
- Surgery if refractory

A
Antibiotics with rest, ice and analgesia
