Enrollment criteria for the EFM program
- Long term or chronic Medical, Educational, Developmental, psychiatric needs
- Enrolled in DEERS
- Resides with Sponsor (Except Geo-batch)
EFMP Category I
- Monitoring
- does not effect assignability
EFM Category II
- Pinpoint overseas assignment
- Enrollees needs require special placement in compatible geographic area either INCONUS or OCONUS
EFM Category III
- No overseas
EFM Category IV
- Assignment near major MTFs
- Large MTF coincide with large fleet concentrations
EFM Category V
- Homesteading
- Enrollees considered to be Severely disabled
- will remain in the same geographical location
- does not override the Sea/Shore requirement
EFM Category VI
- temporary (6-12 months)
- after the member is removed from this category they need to be reassessed
