What is being described?:
- Leaf is made up of blade (contains veins) and they’re connected to the stem of the plant via the petiole

What is being described?:
- There are types of leaves and shapes
-the SIMPLE leaf has ONE blade (w/ veins coming off the petiole)
-a COMPOUND leaf is going to have MULTIPLE leaflets coming off the same petiole
-the compound leaf w/ leaflets being across from each other is called PINNATELY COMPOUND
-leaves can be alternately arranged, oppositely arranged, or whorled (more than two leaves coming off the same area)
-the compound leaf w/ leaflets coming off the same central point is called PALMATELY COMPOUND
