Protruding mucosal surface esophageal wall shaggy rough surface. Poss to peel away. Extends deep onto wall.
Where would you want to take a biopsy from this lesion in order to create that histo slide?
From the firm areas near teh margins
(not the soft/necrotic areas or the hemorrhagic areas)
Describe the cells seen, MDx, cause?
round/spindle mesenchymal cells suspended in eosinophillic matrix consistent with osteoid.
Mdx: esophageal osteosarcoma
Cause: Parasite spirocircolupi
These are samples from the dog with the esophageal mass, could these symptoms be realated?
Yes this is osteopathy from the space occupying mass in the thoracic cavity. Pathogenisis unkknown
