As the water point of HT channel this point is able to treat heat of head or heart. However, the main application of this point is to treat disorders of the upper limb such as epicondylitis, Hemiplagia or Parkinson’s
HT 3 - HS, Water point
As the fire point on the HT channel the strength of this point is to treat HT fire which transmits to the SI and BL in the lower burner, giving rise to a variety of urogenital disorders such as genital itching or difficult urination
HT 8 (Fire)
The strength of this point is in treating Yin fluids of the HT, thus being essential in the treatment of HT Yin Xu or Blood such as night sweating. Also able to treat Acute HT pain, nosebleeds, vomiting, and fright palpitations
HT 6 (Xi Cleft)
Named ‘Support the Aged’, this point is renowned in treatment of deficiency type eye disordered characterized by blurry or dimness of vision. Also used for Acute pain of the shoulder, scapula and arm, acute lumbar sprain.
SI 6 (Xi Cleft)
Confluent point of the GV, important in the treatment of pain, stiffness or contraction along the Taiyang channel and Du Mai, eg. headache, acute lumbar sprain. Also good for febrile diseases, nightsweating, epilepsy
SI 3 (SS, Wood point)
Important point for local pain of scapula and shoulder, also used in combination ? for a variety of breast disorders; also found to be tender in palpation with urinary tract infection or gall stones

Indicated for use in mania-depression, fear and fight, sadness and anxiety due to its ability to calm the spirit. Empirical point for excrescence on the skin such as warts or lipomas

Important local point for jaw problems and all kinds of ear disorders including tinnitus, deafness, TMJ, motor impairment of mandibular joint

As Yuan Source point of a Yang channel, this point is mainly used in treatment of contraction, stiffness and pain along the SI channel itself. However, it is also effective in treating Jaundice due to its ability to clear dampness via the SI’s function of ‘separating the clear from the turbid’
