What are the three critical elements of a goal?
1) Performance/behavior is measurable
2) Conditions & context; what you do and in what environment
3) Criterion & accuracy; correct productions out of total opportunities
Describe “performance.”
- An observable, measurable behavior that is desired to be changed (in the client)
Describe “conditions.”
What you will provide to the client to facilitate performance success (e.g., prompts)
- What the client is working for.
Describe “context” (as part of the conditions)
- Environment/setting
- Prompting
- Activity perameters
What are methods?
How you will teach the client the target goal.
What are materials?
A list of the items you will use in the therapy session.
What is reinforcement?
A method to positively reinforce the occurrence of target productions
What are the results?
Objective data of behavior, including accuracy (e.g., +6/10 opportunities)
What do you put in the “comments” section of the lesson plan?
- how the client did and his/her performance
- evaluation of your own performance
- revisions for the next session based on the first two.
