  • This subsection provides an alternate method of RPV Depressurization by operating the Reactor Feed Pump Turbines. This subsection is to be performed ONLY WHEN the Condensate/Feedwater System is NOT required for RPV water level control AND the Main Condenser can be placed in operation with at least 7.0 in Hg. vacuum.
  • The RFPTs will trip on low vacuum of 22.3 in Hg vacuum if speed goes above 3500 RPM

WHILE maintaining Turbine speed > 2000 RPM when operating. ______
‌2.IF HPCI is operating,
THEN perform ONE of the following:
‍a.IF continued HPCI operation is NOT desired,
THEN perform the following:
‍(1)DEPRESS and HOLD HPCI Remote Turbine Trip push-button. ______
‍(2)WHEN HPCI Turbine has stopped,
PLACE 2E41-C002-3, Aux. Oil Pump, in PULL-TO-LOCK. ______
‍(3)WHEN HPCI TURBINE BRG OIL PRESS LOW alarm is received,
RELEASE HPCI Remote Turbine Trip push-button. ______
IF continued HPCI operation is desired,
THEN REDUCE 2E41-R612, flow controller in manual or auto,
to prevent injection WHILE maintaining Turbine speed > 2000 RPM.

A

ANY SUBSEQUENT LOCA SIGNAL WILL CAUSE THE CORE SPRAY PUMPS TO AUTO START AND WILL ALSO ALLOW THE DISCHARGE VALVE TO AUTO OPEN.
