SCRAM Actions

A

SCRAM the reactor for a fire located in

a. Turbine Lube Oil System
b. EHC System
c. Hydrogen Seal Oil System

If fire is located in the following areas AND directed by SS SCRAM:

a. Oil Storage Tank Room

IF directed by Shift Supervisor – SCRAM the reactor

18
Q

34AB-Y22-004-0 Intruder Based Security Threat

SCRAM Actions

A

IF threat is valid and imminent:
Scram both units allow approximately 30 seconds between unit trips.

“CREDIBLE IMMINENT SECURITY THREAT” means within 30 minutes.

Credible notification/verification would normally come from the NRC through the ENS phone but also could come from the FBI.

19
Q

34AB-Y22-005-0 Airborne Threat

SCRAM Actions

A

IF Imminent, shutdown both units with an approximate 30 second delay
between units. (Implied SCRAM since Probable Threat requires a Fast Reactor Shutdown)

Verification is received from the NRC that the site is in the flight path of a track of interest (TOI) with estimated time of arrival of 5 minutes or less.

20

IF Recirc Flow is LOWERED to the point where rod insertion is required for further power reduction,
AND
this alarm has NOT cleared, THEN enter 34AB-C71-001-2, Scram Procedure, AND SCRAM the Reactor
