ENGINES Flashcards
Minimum bleed pressure for engine start?
25 PSI
At what percentage N2 does ignition switch off on the Leap Engine?
55%
How many igniters are used for a manual engine start?
2
What does an amber FAULT light on the ENG panel mean?
Automatic start sequence has been aborted
EGT limit for start?
635 deg C
Minimum oil temperature before take off?
50 deg C
Minimum oil pressure?
60 PSI
Minimum oil qty?
11 qt
What are the engine starter limitations?
30 min cooling after 3 failed start attempts
15 sec pause between start cycles
Starter must not be run above 10% N2
What is the ground speed limit for maximum reverse thrust?
70 kts
How is EPR calculated on the IAE V2500 engines?
LP turbine (P5) divided by Fan inlet pressure (P2)
What parameters are used to calculate EPR on the IAE V2500 engines?
TLA
Altitude
Mach nr
SAT
Air inlet TAT
Extracted bleed air
What type of thrust reverser system is used by the engines?
Hydraulic system
What is N1 mode and how is it engaged?
Normally we use EPR. When P5 or P2 data is invalid it switches to N1 mode. Can also be engaged manually
What is the difference between “Rated” and “Un rated” N1 mode?
- Rated: FADEC controls N1 as a function of Thrust lever position, temp, altitude and preventing exceedances. You have lost P5 and P2 data and can not compute EPR
- Un-rated: FADEC controls N1 as a function of thrust lever position only. Thrust lever detents do not provide exceedance protection. You have lost temperature and can not compute mach nr
For both modes A Floor and ATHR is lost
