What is it?
A
Characterised by growth of ectopic endometrial tissue outside uterine cavity

What are the features?
A
Chronic pelvic pain
Secondary dysmenorrhoea
Deep dyspareunia
Subfertility
Dysuria, urgency
Bowel symptoms e.g. pain on defecation

What investigations are required?
A
Laparoscopy= gold standard
Can have US but little role for primary care

Q
What is the management?
A
Trial of paracetamol or NSAID
Offer hormonal treatment e.g. COCP, POP if not working
Refer to secondary care if not managing
- GnRH analogues
- surgery- can aid in fertility
