What is it?
A
Due to decreased oestrogen levels leading to dry vagina and increased risk of infection

What are symptoms?
A
Vaginal dryness, itching/burning
Painful intercourse
Occasional Spotting
Urinary symptoms such as frequency or urgency

What is found on examination
A
Pale, dry and atrophic vaginal mucosa
May have petechiae or ulceration

What is the management?
A
1st line
- vaginal moisturisers or lubricants
2nd line
- oestrogen therapy e.g. cream or ring
