When should you use acetaminophen and how much?
Use during fevers and minor pain
600-1000 mg for adults once
15mg/kg for pediatric once
When should you use albuterol and how much?
Used to help asthma and during allergic reactions
For both adult and pediatrics:
2.5mg diluted in 3 mL NS nebulized q (every) 10 minutes until symptoms approved
When should you use asprin and how much?
Use during chest pain as an anti platelet
Use 325mg chewed for adults
DO NOT use for pediatrics unless ordered by OLMC
When should you use atropine (duodote) and how much?
Use during organophosphate or nerve agent toxin exposure
Use 1-2 kits with for moderate cases, and 3 kits for severe exposure for adults
Contact OLMC for pediatric
When should you use epinephrine and how much?
Use during anaphylaxis
Use 0.3 auto injector for adults
Use 0.15 auto injector for pediatrics
When should you use ibuprofuen and how much?
As an anti inflammatory drug or for mild pain
Use 600mg one time for adults
Use 10mg/kg one time for children above 6 months
When should you use naloxone and how much?
Use in response to opioid overdose
Use 0.4 to 2mg IN/IM as often as necessary for adults
Use 0.1mg/kg IN/IM as often as necessary for pediatrics
When should you use nitroglycerin and how much?
Use for chest pain of cardiac origin
Use 0.4 mg SL every 5 minutes until you hit 3 doses or symptoms relax for adults
DO NOT USE for pediatrics
When should you use oral glucose and how much?
Use in hypoglycemic patients
Use 15g PO repeated every 15 minutes as needed for adults
Use 7.5g PO repeated every 15 minutes as needed for pediatrics
