Emotions Definition
An emotion is defined as a short, intense feeling resulting from some event
positive emotions
such as joy, love and surprise result from our reaction to desired events
- achieving a goal or receiving praise
negative emotions
such as anger, fear and sadness can result from undesired events
- not having your opinions heard, a lack of control, and unpleasant interactions
Emotional Contagion
when the emotions exhibited by one person lead to the same or similar emotions in another person or group of people (emotions being contagious)
can be positive or negative
On Self Awareness
“Throughout your career, you’re going to hear lots of feedback…”
If you hear a certain piece of feedback consistently and you don’t agree with it, it doesn’t matter what you think.
Truth is,

ability to sense other’s emotions, show you care, read other’s behaviors and understand how your words and actions make other’s feel – sensitive enough to change when the impact is negative

ability to communicate clearly and convincingly influence the emotions of others, disarm conflicts, and build strong personal bonds
