Why prison is effective
A
P-Keeps the public safe.
E- One of the aims of prison is to protect the public from those that pose a risk to society.
E-The public wouldn’t be safe if people who had murdered and raped were still allowed to roam the street without being sent to prison for a period of time in order to rehabilitate them.
P- Deters people from committing crime.
E-Most people in the country would not like to be sent to prison as a punishment therefore it stops people from committing crimes.
E- If someone was to be sent to prison they wouldn’t be able to do whatever they wanted, wouldn’t see their family much and could make it difficult to get a job when they are released from prison.
