A

P- Peer pressure
E- Young people dont want to be left out and feel pressured to join gangs
E- This can lead to other criminal activities such as knife crime, vandalism and anti-social behaviour

P- Lack of positive role models
E- If the person has been brought up in an enviorment that normalises commiting crimes then they might think that behaviour is acceptable
E- Growing up in a household where the family takes drugs may make the child think its okay to do that themselves

P- Poverty
E- Rely on benefits from the gov but might struggle for money to get by
E- Some mothers might have to shoplift food and other essentials for her family

P- Unemployment
E- People may not have good qualifications therefore struggle to find employment as a result they might commit crimes to get things they cant afford
E- Unemployed men who have served time in prison are most likley to reoffened

P- Poor mental health
E- Induviduals with depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia are likley to commit crimes
E- It is estimated that 70% of prisioners have mental health issues

P- Sex
E- As a result of hormonal differences woman tend to be less agressive as they have a lower testostrone levels.
E- Males in scotland commit 96% of violent crime
