Not very. His policy only really managed to cement the alliance between Scotland and France. However, much of his problems stemmed from the diplomatic, economic and military problems he inherited.

The French took control of her. She went to France and married the Dauphin (heir to the French throne), spoiling Somerset’s plans for a marriage between EdVI and Mary
