AN subtypes
- restricting
- binge and purge

mild - BMI over 17
moderate - BMI in the 16s
severe - BMI in the 15s
extreme - BMI under 15
suicide and death in AN
- death higher than any disorder except heroin addiction
- suicide, higher than any other disorder
bulemia DSM 5
1) binging in discrete period of time
2) recurrent inappropriate behavior to prevent weight gain
3) both occur for at least three months
4) self-evaluation severely influenced by body shape and weight
binge eating disorder DSM 5
1) episodes of binge eating
2) 3 of several characteristics including:
fast eating
eating to feeling uncomfortable
eating when not hungry
eating alone
disgust, depression, guilt after eating
3) marked distress
4) at least 3 months
5) not during AN or BN
two other eating disorder diagnoses
- other specified feeding or eating disorder
sub threshold instances of other disorders - unspecified feeding or eating disorder
inadequate information for diagnosis
problematic eating
