bulimia - binge eating followed by some sort of purging
binge eating - binging without purging

what is atypical anorexia nervosa ?
like AN except that their weight remains within normal range despite weight loss
what is atypical bulimia nervosa ?
bulimia but with less of a frequency
what is a purging disorder ?
purging without binge eating
what are the comorbidities associated with binge eating disorder ?
depression
low self esteem

do BED prevent weight gain ?

what test can be used in the clinic for patients with anorexia ?
1- squat test in medium risk patients - they have difficulty getting up
2- in higher risk patients they cant get up unless arms are levered
what is the treatment aim of BMI in anorexia patients ?
20-25
what is the pharma first line treatment for bulimia ?
SSRI - fluoxetine
CBT rather than family therapy
in anorexia what kind of therapy is preferred ?
family therapy
