E190 - Landing gear Flashcards
What is the function of the LG override switch ?
It’s a backup for the normal landing gear lever. It also electronically bypasses the PSEM, and extends the landing gear in the same way as the landing gear lever.
The LG WRN inhibit button can be used, for example, in case of failure of…. ?
The radio altimeters.
After how many seconds after the discrepancy is a red gear disagree indication shown ?
After 20 seconds.
If the emergency/PB accumulator pressure indication is shown in amber, it means:
the emergency/PB effectiveness is degraded.
Are you allowed to take off with the brake temperature indication in amber ?
No.
A red towing light means:(A green light means the opposite)
- external steering disengage switch is in the engaged position, or- parking brake applied, or- main brakes applied.
Two … process signals from 6 … proximity sensors to determine if the airplane is on ground or in flight.
PSEM (proximity sensor electronic modules)WOW (weight on wheels).
Is it possible to retract a gear if the respective two WOW-sensors of that gear have failed ?
No. This is indicated by the CAS msg:- LG NO DISPATCH (gnd)- LG WOW SYS FAIL (flight)
How is the UP/DOWN status of each gear detected ?
By two uplock and two downlock sensors for every gear.
What happens if you extend the gear ?
- Hydraulics up-locks are released- Gear is extended- Downlock springs lock the LG.
By pulling the alternate gear lever:
- Hydraulic pressure is released.- Uplocks are released.- The landing gear free falls.
What is the indication if the gear is selected down, but one of the 2 downlock sensors is in disagreement ?
Gear down. In case of disagreement, the sensor in agreement with the LG lever will be considered valid.
What is the indication if the gear is selected up, but one of the 2 uplock sensors is in disagreement ?
Gear up. In case of disagreement, the sensor in agreement with the LG lever will be considered valid.
What is the function of the DN LOCK REL button ?
It bypasses the LG down-protection logic for ground-mode.
The L/G aural warning “LANDING GEAR” sounds in-flight when the gear is not down and:
S/F lever 0-4:- RA < 700 ft AGL- TLA < 38° (2#) or 57° (1#)S/F lever 5-FULL:- Always
Which hydraulic systems power which brakes ?
Hyd system 1 - outboard brakesHyd system 2 - inboard brakes
Normal braking is accomplished through which modules ? They are powered by ?
BCM 1 - DC ESS BUS 1BCM 2 - DC ESS BUS 2ABM - DC BUS 2
The BCM main functions are protection for:
- locked wheel + antiskid protection- automatic wheel braking- touchdown protection.
Locked wheel protection is only available when wheel speed is > … kts. If a wheelspeed is … lower, braking is stopped on this wheel to equalize wheel speeds again.
30 kts33%.
Is anti-skid protection available for the emergency/parking brake system ?
No.
Touchdown protection (disabling brakes) is de-activated when:
- wheelspeed > 50 kts, or- 3 sec on the ground (WOW)
The emergency/parking brake has pressure accumulators, powered by hydraulic systems… . Sufficient pressure should be available for … brake applications.
Systems 1 and 2.6 brake applications.
True or false ? As speed decreases, the required deflection of the emergency brake system decreases.
No, it increases to maintain continuous braking.
Can the AB system be armed if the normal brake system is not operational ?
No.
