E190 -Electrical Flashcards
What happens if you set the BAT 1 switch to OFF ?
The battery is isolated from the airplane electrical system and only supplies power to HBB 1.
When are the batteries on the electrical synoptic page indicated white ?
When the voltage is < 18 V.
The IDG’s and APU GEN are rated at:
115/200 V30/40 kVA400 Hz
The RAT is rated at:
115/200 V15 kVA400 Hz
The AC/DC inverter is rated at:
250 VA
The static inverter powers:It converts:
The AC STBY BUS from the DC ESS BUS 1, when an electrical AC source is not available. (normally the AC ESS BUS through AC BUS 2).28 V DC to 115 V AC power.
When does the RAT deploy ?
Whenever AC power is lost. After 8 sec, the AC ESS BUS (and other essential busses) are powered by the RAT.
Can the RAT be stowed back in flight ?
No.
It takes 8sec for the RAT to power the AC ESS BUS.In the mean time, the AC STBY bus and DC ESS BUSSES are powered by:
The batteries.
Is ACMP 3B powered during an electrical emergency (RAT deployed) ?
No. Only ACMP 3A is powered by the RAT.
Does the RAT power all essential busses at ANY airspeed ?
No.
< 130 kts, the RAT only powers the AC ESS BUS, other busses (DC ESS BUSSES, AC STBY BUS) are powered by the batteries.
At an even lower speed, load shedding occurs until AC ESS BUS is no longer powered.
What is the “no break power transfer” ?
It allows momentarily paralleling of AC power sources to avoid short power interruptions.
The two NiCd batteries are rated at:
22,8 V27 Ah
If AC power is available, are the batteries constantly charged ?
Yes, including by the RAT !
What is the minimum battery #2 temperature for an APU start ?
minus 20 deg celsius.
