the breakdown of large fat globules into many tiny globules.
Energy transfer
the transfer of energy from one trophic (feeding) level to the next.
Enhanced greenhouse effect
Increase in concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere leading to global warming.
Enzymes
Biological catalysts that speed up the rate of chemical reactions in the body.
Eutrophication
The enrichment of waters with plant nutrients that can stimulate growth of algae and plants.
Evolution
The process in which inherited features change populations of organisms over time.
Excretion
The removal from organisms of toxic materials, the waste products of metabolism and substances in excess of requirements.
Extinct
when a species no long exists on the earth.
