pharyngeal stage
begins upward movement of hyoid bone and larynx, airways and VP close as bolus passes pharyngeal walls come inward
esophageal stage
begin with lowering and backward movement of larynx and resumption of breathing
Symptoms of Dysphagia
drooling, loss of food at mouth, pocketing of food in buccal cavity, gargly voice during or after eating
