Class:Parasympatholytic or anti cholinergic Indi:Symptomatic brady, pesticide poisoning, Prior to rsi in peds
Contra: No absolute
Dose: Brady .5-1mg prn 3-5 peds.02 mg/kg Pesticides: 2mg ivp/io prn 5 min peds less than 12 .02-.05mg/kg Peds rsi .01-.02 mg/kg

Calcium Chloride

A

class: electrolyte
indi:Calcium channel blocker(hypocalcemia),Beta blocker OD, acute hyperkalemia or cardiac arrest b/c of it hypocalcemia, hypermagnesemia, crush injury greater than 4hrs
Contra: dig tox, hypercalcemia,
V-fib Dose: Hyperkalemia or Beta Blocker- 500mg-1gm prn 5-10min
Calcium channel OD 2-4mg/kg
Peds: 20mg/kg

Dexamethasone

A

class: steroid
indi: cerebral edema, spinal cord injury, anaphylaxis, status asthamticus(acute not respond to normal treatments),COPD exacerbation, severe croup Contra: None in emergency setting
Dose: 4-24 mg IV/IO Peds .2-.5mg/kg

A

Valium
anticonvulsant, benzo, sedative-hypnotic, anti anxiety
Indi: seizures, sedation prior to cardioversion or pacing, acute anxiety, muscle relaxer, chemical restraint
Contra: head injury/cns depression, respiratory depression, hypotx-shitty vitals, shock, infants less than 30 days
dose: Seizures, Anxiety & Cardioversion 5-10mg max 20mg prn 5-15min only for seizures Peds .1 mg/kg max 20mg
