HHS features?
A
- The degree of insulin def is sufficient to inhibit hepatic ketogenesis but insufficient to inhibit hepatic glucose production
- mainly in type 2
- sugar is very high
- but no acidosis
- mx almost same as dka.,ost imp is hydaration
- start insulin 0.05 u/kg/hr
- im and sc not given Cuz…
- more loss inn water than Na (hyperosmolar)
- no much issue with K ,if present Correct it
- prone to venous thrombosis,AKI,neuro prob if sudden correction
