Good communication, good listener, motivated, record keeper, organized
What is an inclusive environment? Why is it important?
Environment where people of all cultural orientations can freely express who they are, their own opinions and points of view
How would you develop an inclusive work environment?
Pratical steps includes
- involve all employees in inclusion efforts
- training for management
- internal policies and practices
- creating postive culture that aligns with goals, values and skills
- measuring progress and hearing feedback
Name building designs that promotes inclusive environment
Adding ramps for access and widening of door openings, adding toilet provision for people with disabilities.
What is microaggression?
Microaggressions are subtle, often unintentional, actions or comments that demean or insult people based on their identity (race, gender, sexuality, etc.).
How would you address microaggression?
Acknowledge the impact, educate yourself, create space for open dialogue, stand up for others
What is unconscious bias? How would you avoid bias?
Unconscious bias refers to attitudes or stereotypes that affect our understanding, actions, and decisions in an unconscious manner
- increase awareness, challenge assumptions, diverse interactions, continuous learning
