Using TMS pulse on asleep participant wearing EEG, to see how far the signal induced by the TMS spread throughout the brain.

Compared to when awake. Result: strong disconnection (specially in deep sleep). Information doesn’t spread very far, interconnections are disconnected

Non-REM and anasthasia induced sleep show a way lower PCI (disconnected). They work on their own, compared to the high interconnectedness when awake
