Contraindications of Dexamethasone
Systemic fungal infections
Hypersensitivity
Preterm infants
Adverse reactions of Dexamethasone
Sodium retention, fluid retention, potassium loss, hypertension, convulsions, hyperglycemia, myocardial rupture followed by infarction
Adult dosage of Dexamethasone in reactive airway disease
8-24 mg
Adult dosage of Dexamethasone for cerebral edema
1-5 mg/kg
