An individuals position in the social structure which depends of their income, type of job and area they live in.

- Uses funding from the National Lottery for elite athletes
- Aims to maximise performance of UK athletes in the Olympics

Explain how the organisation ‘English Institute of Sport’ provides support for potential elite athletes?
Aim is to increase the probability of a potential elite athlete being successful by providing services to improve health, fitness, training and preparation. Examples of these services include providing expertise in Sport Science, (aid training), Medical (physio),

-Generates its own income by providing services to NGB’s
-EIS aids in UK sports science and technology development
