What are Descriptive Statistics?
The use of graphs, tables and summary statistics to identify trends and analyse sets of data.
What are Measures if central tendency?
The general term for any measure of the average value in a set of data.
What is the Mean?
The average calculated by adding together all the values you have then dividing that answer by the number of values you have.
What is the Median?
The central value in a set if data when they are arranged from lowest to highest.
What is the Mode?
The most frequently occurring value in a set of data.
What is Bimodal?
When there are two modes.
What are Measures of dispersion?
The general term for any measure of the spread or variation in a set of scores.
What is the Range?
A simple calculation of the measures of dispersion in a set of scores, which is worked out by subtracting the lowest score from the highest.
What is Standard Deviation?
A calculation which states how much scores deviate from the mean by calculating the difference between the mean and each score.
