Suspicious skin CA (any type) of 1 cm diameter: Initial management?
A
Excisional biopsy with narrow margins (1-3mm)
Cf. Punch biopsy is too small for Dx, and shave biopsy is contraindicated in skin CA.

Fungal infection with Tan, pink, or white macules that do not tan and Fine scales seen when scraped. No pruritis.

Tinea versicolor

Herald patch (large, scaly) followed by rash in Christmas tree distribution. Itchy.

Pityriasis rosea (cause unknown, but resolves spontaneously)
