What checks are done?
A
state of oral, dental health and soft tissues. Facial symmetry, medical history, dental history, function of dentition

Why do we assess function of dentition?
A
ensure pt is able to eat + speak well, ensure they are conformable + without pain, less likelihood of problems occurring in the dentition due to high areas or bad occlusion as this can cause neck, head,ear or jaw pain and periodontal trauma

How do we assess?
A
visually checking how pt bite together, with articulating paper to monitor high spots, using imps for study models, taking measurements and wax squash bite or other similar methods
