Q

how do you measure the density of an irregular object

A
  • find out the objects mass
  • fill the eureka can with water just to the top of the spout
  • place an empty beaker under the spout
  • drop the object in the EUREKA CAN
  • measure the volume of water that was displaced.
  • repeat and take an average then calculate density with equation d= m\v

Q

how do you calculate the density of a regular object

A
  • find the mass of the object
  • use a ruler or vernier callipers to measure the width, height and length of the object and find out the volume
  • do repeats and find an average
  • use the equation to find out the density
